Hideez Enterprise Server – Platform authentication on the HES server

If your device is equipped with a biometric sensor, you can set it as a FIDO key. You can also use a PIN code (Windows 10, Android).

Adding a key

Windows 10-11

Step 1

Enable Windows Hello Fingerprint or PIN sign-in option.

Step 2

When adding a FIDO key for authentication on the server, scan your fingerprint using the sensor, or log in via PIN.

Step 3

In the upper right corner of the window, click the profile icon and select the Profile from the drop-down list. Then click FIDO2 Authenticators.

Select Platform, fill checkbox Use Usernameless (optionally), click Next then Enter PIN. Set Authentication name and click Done.

Apple iPhone

Step 1

Setup Touch ID.

Step 2

When adding a FIDO key for authentication on the server, scan your fingerprint using the sensor.

Step 3

Name the key and touch Done.

Android

Step 1

Enable fingerprint or PIN unlock on your Android device.

Step 2

When adding a FIDO key for authentication on the server, scan your fingerprint using the sensor, or log in via PIN.

Touch Get started.

Then select Use this device with screen lock option.

If you have set up fingerprint unlock scan your fingerprint using the sensor:

If you have set up PIN unlock, touch Use screen lock and enter your PIN in the subsequent window.

Step 3

Name the key and touch Done.

Authorization via the platform key

Windows 10

Step 1

Select Sign in with a Security Key option.

Step 2

In the subsequent window choose your user and click OK.

Step 3

Scan your fingerprint using the sensor, or log in via PIN.

Apple iPhone

Step 1

Select Sign in with a Security Key option.

Step 2

Scan your fingerprint using the sensor.

Android

Android devices do not allow usernameless FIDO authentication.

Step 1

Enter login and touch Next.

Step 2

Select Sign in with a Security Key option.

Step 3

Scan your fingerprint using the sensor, or log in via PIN.

If you have set up fingerprint unlock scan your fingerprint using the sensor:

If you have set up PIN unlock, touch Use screen lock and enter your PIN in the subsequent window.

Also, you can use the platform key as a second factor. Set it up the same way as described above, then on the login screen input your login, and password and choose a "Security key" from the list of methods of two-factor authentication.
